What are the measures you took for your business during this period?

Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our customers, our employes and all of those who we come into contact with. So, we took significant and decisive internal actions in order to protect and to ensure our employees safety in the best possible way and with management commitment and staff members involvement. We started an information campaign in advance and reinforced our cleanliness measures, such as periodic sanitising, disinfection of all work surfaces and equipping the workspace with sanitization products like disinfectants for hands and surfaces.

Moreover, we offered remote work options such as work from home where possible and we developed a methodology for regular business continuity, such as replacing face-to-face meetings and business travel with Skype conference calls.

In this context, we had to adjust production to the current market requirements by prioritising the cleaning supplies and antibacterial soaps. Morover, we launched two new 70% alcohol-based hand sanitizer products, respectively a hand sanitizing lotion and a hand sanitizing gel. At the same time, we’re maintaining an ongoing communication with the authorities in order to obtain all the neccesary approvals for the emergency biocides production and, also, with the suppliers in order to deliver and support us with the materials required. We support and admire the ones who are fighting against the spread of the new virus and thus we prioritisied our sanitizing products deliveries: the products will be delivered first to to the administration (which includes police departments, city halls, post offices etc.) and then to the final consumers throught pharmacies, convenience stores, brand stores and so on.

Furtermore, we had to adapt our communication to the current situation, which requires rethinking the campaigns already planned for the next period.

What’s your advice for business leaders regarding this crisis?

The current situation is forcing unprecedented actions for every company, big or small, but the action plan is very different from business to business, depending on the industry. Some of them are forced into closing offices, suspending the activity, stopping certain campaigns and so on, some need more workers to cover the jobs, like grocers and foodmakers, and there are others who have the ability and the resources to redirect their businesses to online services, home delivery etc. in order to adapt to the situation.

I think that every entrepreneur should do an in-depth analysis of their resources, production strategy and services in order to adapt to the current market conditions and to find a solution to keep the business running.

The creative entrepreneurs, the ones with a long-term vision who come up with cutting-edge ideas and out of the box solutions are those who will persevere.

What’s the most positive business news you’ve read today and want to share?

The current situation is uniting us all and I think that every news about someone who is stepping up in the effort to cope with this pandemic is a big motivation to continue the fight.

Everyone who’s trying to find ways to minimize the impact on public health and who keeps putting the well-being of people first, and not their own profit, deserves to be known.
